Title: What the cheerleading committee will be talking about

From the GHSA website, here's what's listed for the cheerleading committee.
1.  A proposal to change the format and date of sectionals and state.  (please God don't let it be any earlier)
2.  A proposal to lessen point deductions for minor violations.
3.  A proposal to develop a written policy about proper uniforms that'd go into effect in the 2014 season.

I hope they change the dates of several GHSA events because it is hard for the smaller schools to compete when state competitions run on the same day. For example, one year the state finals for cheer, drama and cross country were held on the same Saturday. I do hope that cheer isn't earlier though!

A lot of small schools had to rush from Columbus to get to state one act.  They don't need to push the season back any earlier.  Still way too many gyms that aren't designed to host events when the weather's hot.

Unfortunately, it looks like the proposal is to move things UP a week.  HUH?

Per GHSA Minutes.  Regionals, co-ed and public/private A sectionals November 9.  Co-ed championship, AA-AAAA sectionals November 15.  Finals November 16.
