Title: New Scoring
Post by: cheerub on September 30, 2017, 11:15:33 PM
The new scoring is HORRIBLE. There were changes that needed to be made, but NOT like this. Now we are back to having a that one judge/panel who can score you horribly low (as in almost 15 points lower) than the other panels. Now, about 60% of the scoresheet is totally subjective!!

All that subjective judging ended up causing some teams losses and placing they didn’t deserve. How does it make sense for one judge to decide he/she doesn’t like a team’s dance, or pyramid, or anything else - just based on personal preference? It should be based on the rubric, not someone’s personal opinion. Yes, I realize that judges are there to judge, but it doesn’t seem right that one person can lowball a team and destroy their chances at placing, or even winning.
