How was Effingham? I heard a lot of girls from last year didn't tryout or they quit this summer.

Effingham was 1st in their classification and overall Grand Champ. They looked very strong for the beginning of the season. I don't know that what you heard was true, but if it is then they bounced back pretty well. They will be a force this season...as always ;)

They are always strong! Do you think they can hang with the north and middle Georgia schools this year? Like Houston? Northgate? Starr's Mill?

From the video I saw of Northgate it's clear somebody wants their crown back. However, I hear (haven't seen, does anyone have a video or know where one is of SM?) Starr's Mill is going to put up a tough fight. And when you throw in Houston, Union Grove, and Effingham it tends to get pretty competitive in that 5A world. I wouldn't count some other underdogs out either like East Paulding, Northside, or South Effingham.

From watching Northside and South Effingham, neither are maxing so far. That's not to say they won't later in the season- there are places where skills could be added- I'm
Just saying that they aren't right now.

One thing I've seen is that teams try to pack their routines with so many skills that they lose the clean factor of the routine. Sloppy transitions, wobbly stunts, timing off can't compete with those teams that have the skill ANd execution. It should definitely be an interesting year!!

I definitely think they will be able to hang in with the other schools. They have the difficulty and execution in their routine to do well. However, we've seen year after year where they've had tremendous seasons, but just fell short of a state title. I would love to see them finally win this year, but the 5A competition will definitely be close.
