Cheerknowledge's winner and up-setter predictions for Sectionals site. My prediction is based on what I have heard and seen. The winner is considering that team hits and executes it's routine and the up-setter is considering the winner team has issues.
Private Single A
Winner: Mt. Paran
Up-Setters: Brookstone, Savannah Christian
Public Single A
Winner: Commerce
Up-Setter: Trion

Look out for Hawkinsville. They've been quite successful this season.

I agree....Hawkinsville has the coaching to make a run.
-
Just curious, does Hawkinsville max out the score sheet?
-
Hawkinsville did get first in public school sectionals. I don't remember top 8, think Trion was second.

Hawkinsville is awesome. Love the upset. Haven't heard much on them but they have great coaching!

Copy and posted this from the GAVSV forum because I thought it was a good post regarding the results:
"You can't blame judges on this one. The ruberic was followed to a T. Trion & Hawkinsville both had 12-13 girls on the mat. Not sure about Commerce, but I know they had 3 stunt groups as well. That being said, the number of girls on the mat is not always a factor. Several scenarios can play into that. Hawkinsville didn't have any fulls, but their tumbling was point on. It doesn't matter what you throw if you don't throw it well. Also, H had a lot of difficulty in their stunts & they executed it well. You don't need to put down other squads & judges simply because things don't go your way. Trying to take away from the winning squad will not make yours look any better. It just screams sour grapes. Familiarize yourself with the ruberic & scoring & it will be clear what needs to be done for that 1st place spot. Basically 2 squads have a lot of work to do this week to clean up, & close up that 20+ point gap, and 1 has a lot of work to do to maintain their position. Sectionals & State have always had very respectable judges. They know they're stuff. Good luck to all Friday!"
